Biography
Herwin advises and litigates on the protection, exploitation and the enforcement of intellectual property rights (such as copy right law, trademark law, design law, trade name law and domain name law). Besides this he is an expert on direct marketing (telemarketing and e-mail / SMS marketing).
After graduating in law and business science from Groningen State University, Herwin joined the Intellectual Property and Information Technology practice group in 2005, becoming a lawyer in 2006.
Herwin was the co-author of a chapter of the book "Electronic Contracting" (Monographic Series Information Technology and law) and the chapter "The trustee in bankruptcy and intellectual property" of the Handbook on Insolvency part 6. Herwin is a member of the Benelux Association of Trade Mark and Model/Design Law, member of the Netherlands Association for Privacy Law and the Netherlands Association for Information Technology and Law. Furthermore, Herwin is an editor of the IP weblog Boek9.nl
